Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about CARUMAI and how we support dealership marketing teams.
What is Carumai?+
Carumai is a VIN-level inventory operating system that helps dealerships identify underperforming vehicles, increase exposure on the units that need help, and reduce wasted ad spend. It combines daily VIN scoring, automated advertising, merch-ready gating, and operational action tools in one system.
How does Carumai help dealerships sell inventory?+
Carumai helps dealerships sell inventory by focusing attention and advertising on the vehicles most likely to need help. It identifies weak-performing VINs, increases exposure and lead opportunity on those units, and gives managers daily actions to improve merchandising, follow-up, and inventory movement.
How does Carumai decide which vehicles to advertise?+
Carumai uses a daily scoring and ranking engine to evaluate eligible inventory and assign each VIN into one of four boost levels: No Boost, Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive. Vehicles in active boost levels receive advertising support based on how much help they need.
What does merch-ready mean?+
Merch-ready means a vehicle meets the required standards to be advertised, including key listing and merchandising requirements. Carumai uses a hard merch-ready gate so stores do not waste spend on vehicles that are not ready for shoppers.
How does Carumai reduce wasted ad spend?+
Carumai reduces wasted ad spend by avoiding broad promotion across all inventory and focusing spend only on the VINs that need help. It also stops spend when a vehicle has enough demand signals or is no longer eligible, unless a dealer override is active.
How does Carumai help underperforming inventory?+
Carumai is built to identify underperforming inventory at the VIN level and push those vehicles into market with the right level of advertising support. It is especially useful for aged units, low-activity vehicles, and inventory that needs stronger exposure and manager attention.
Does Carumai send leads to the dealer CRM?+
Yes. Carumai is designed to connect vehicle-specific advertising and shopper activity to dealer lead handling. Clean source and campaign identifiers can be passed into CRM records so dealerships can track activity and reconcile lead outcomes more accurately.
What kind of daily actions does Carumai provide?+
Carumai provides a daily operational digest that highlights blocked vehicles, aged inventory with demand, wholesale candidates, lead follow-up opportunities, and sold-interest recovery actions. The goal is to turn inventory into a daily action queue for the dealership team.
How does Carumai measure performance?+
Carumai measures performance at the VIN level using exposure and lead-opportunity metrics, including views per VIN-day and leads per VIN-day. It uses a holdout framework called Trust Window to compare active VINs against similar eligible VINs that are temporarily withheld from advertising.
What is a VIN-day?+
A VIN-day is one vehicle measured over one day. Carumai uses VIN-day normalization so dealerships can evaluate exposure and lead-opportunity performance more fairly across inventory.
Can dealerships override Carumai decisions?+
Yes. Carumai allows dealer overrides when a store wants to keep a vehicle active even if the AI recommends reducing or stopping spend. The system is designed to clearly separate AI decisions from dealer overrides in both logic and UI.
How is Carumai different from a standard automotive ad platform?+
Carumai is different because it is built around VIN-level decisioning, not broad campaign traffic alone. Instead of spreading spend across inventory, it identifies the vehicles that need help most and applies advertising, measurement, and daily operations around those units.
